DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Had a day free today to crack on with the car, ive spent most of my spare time since the car came back re routing the wiring loom which is now all done I must say feeding the wiring loom through the little sleave in the centre tunnel is a very fun job.

So today I decided to take a break from all that and crack on with the engine bottom end assembly as I finally got the replacement piston squirters ive been waiting for.





Finally all bolted back up just waiting on my new cams and valve spring now so I can get the twin plugged heads back on and hopefull clear me a bit more working space.

Thought its about time I gave a bit of an update, been getting lots of little jobs done, all the wiring re-wiring is now done and ive just spent the weekend fitting the head liner and trimming the A and B posts which im please to say went better than I imagined it going. Really pleased with they how they look.

Your headliner & posts look really good and that's not an easy job. The rest of the work you've done is inspirational. From now on, any time I suffer a set-back on the car, I'll imagine how much worse it would be in a garage where I couldn't even open the car doors all the way. I will never complain about needing more space in my garage again...well yeah, I will.

Good idea for holding the headlining onto the screen aperture as well .

The stuff holding the headliner on the screen aperture is the trim from the rear 1/4 windows I ordered both sides from pelican and rather than send me two pices they sent me a big length of it so I had plenty left over. This was a god send doing the headliner as I drastically under estimated on the bull dog clips.

I think that really is a top-tip for headliner work.

Thanks Barry. The car is really coming along now got quite a few updates to come over this coming weekend when I get chance to take some pics. The front end is now fully assembled with all lights indicators and horn grills starting to look somthing like road worthy again. Theres basically just the front screen, rear 1/4 windows and rear lights to finnish the body build up then just the mechanics and engine to sort out. Just need to hope we have some sort of summer this year to finally enjoy driving her not like the wash out we had last year.

Pretty much finnished most of the interior now most of carpet is in and so are the seats just need my rear 1/4 trims and door cards.







Also fitted my MS ECU under the seat and its wiring ready for the engine going back in.

It's been a while, but I bought this car from Steve a few years ago and have had it in the corner waiting for some time to get on with it. This was always going to be my car to keep and so it always got put off.

I have to thank Steve for doing a great job. The car was about 80% done, he really did spend a lot of time and money to get it to the stage where I bought it. Just looking through the pictures again in this thread reminds me what an effort he put in.

He always had the idea to run a 3.2 or bigger with Efi but I always planned on putting a 2.7RS ish in it.

My plan was always to run a high comp single plug set up with GE60’s and Mfi. Not sure what power it will put out or even how it will run but I had the parts so set about throwing it together.

A few weeks ago I had some time so I set off.

I also had an early 915 rebuilt.

I had a 2.7 case and had it shuffle pinned and on my way I went.

Had a low mileage SC pump and intermediate.

Very nice 70.4 std/std
