I
knew I had been offered it for £120K and it was from the Old Racing Co:

It was too new for my taste though. A copy of a fifties car should have some patina, surely? Hence I prefer the Peter Jaye versions as they were built in the '80's so have some patination. Unlike this Works version that sold and was still like a new car (even though nearly thirty years old):

Yes, that's how much Peter Jaye's can go for (he only built 12 to my knowledge).

Steve, I took them in '08 when taking part in the same event; a little drive out in aid of the NSPCC. A magnificent car among many others on the day that caught my eye.
Nice to see so many early Jaguar pics, true automotive art

HI
Andy...that's a lovely '53 spec car. Must have some fabulous patina by now. Looks like a superb build. I've always loved the little extra details on a '53...the strengthening rib on the rear, the extra intake and those webers of course.
Mike...I did look at a Lynx car at Duncan Hamilton's - lovely but it was just too shiny and clean. They had a Proteus there as well but it had been owned by one of those classic car hire companies. Felt like it too.
Anyway, I feel like I've turned this into some sort of Jag-fest. Sorry
Ant

though I'd have to change the interior colour.
