It was a stunning car!

Amazing where the prices have gone recently.

As an ignorant subject from the colonies I would like to know who REH is. I presume from the discussion it is a company selling classic Porsches.

Happy 60th to all!

Hi Steve,

Just to keep the thread going (and your juices flowing!) I notice that Neil from Hairpin has just added this beauty to his website:

I don't think a red car was on your radar but you have to admit that this is one stunning looking early car (chassis 151) and with an excellent provenance to boot!

Would love to know more details should you speak with Neil...

Anyone know how much he wants for this car?

I know Paul, but am not sure about publicising these prices anymore, PM if you like?

Steve: I have indeed talked to Neil about this car, and what a beauty it is. I wasn't sure about the lack of RS stripes at first, but looking again, the shade of red without the stripes looks beautifully understated. As he himself said, "even the stove-enamelling on the seat runners is intact!"

I rang Bob Watson to talk about her, he knows the car well, and looks after it. She was in his place last week to change a couple of ageing fuel pipes. He said that the car is fabulous and the mileage is very low. He also rates the red sans stripes. He had Paul 64's car in just before, and Bob rates 151 in the same class as 0024, which is praise indeed. I believe that Bob is a DDK'er himself now? you can't get much better provenance than a minor restoration by Porsche GB and being looked after by Bob Watson?!

As blinkin usual the timing is all wrong for me! I am right in the middle of a lock, stock family move, and won't have a garage again until late August! Where's the fingers-crossed smiley when you need it? I'm hoping that the red sans stripes is not garish enough for the pop-stars that lurk this thread....witness the White/Blue LWT at REH reserved already!!!!
I really like this one, and I wouldn't put the stripes on either, how about that?

That's really really nice. Anyone else getting a bit bored of all the white RSs and reps around? Don't get me wrong, I love the classic white with Carrera side stripes, but they seem to be everywhere! This is just a little different and a refreshing change. I don't even like red cars as a rule, but this is a big exception! 8)

Hi Pete,

So you've sold your lovely 's'? That must've been a wrench.........but does this mean that you are you getting twitchy already?

P.S. Shhhhh about the red car, don't want any popstars snaffling it.....

Six months ago I wouldn't have countenanced an RS without the scripts, but this car is making me a convert.
