Yep, that's the plan for the old girl. I have a few places to fix on the one wing and a corner of one door.

Have LOTS of time now early retired!

Not often these two get together....one lives at home, the other I tend to keep at work until winter....

I've lurked around ddk for a while. I don't feel I'm in the "grand restorer" fold yet but I've dappled around my day job. I'm quite obsessive about detail so no doubt if I extend that to these old cars I'll well and truly fall down the slippery slope. Is that a mig welder for Christmas and epoxy mastic?

In any case I always wanted an old Porsche for a number of reasons. A late SC was the first purchase. In October 14 I started a father / son (I'm the son in the duo) project and the engine was dropped and rebuilt, as was the gearbox. I might post some experiences another time but here is the car:

At Le Mans and great british welcome couple years back:





It has 97k miles and has been cared for over the years.

Then in November 14 I was walking through Dublin near my work when I spotted a grubby looking 993. It had a fully stamped book and was a manual varioram car. Anyway, a deal was done on probably the wisest purchase I've ever made. It's a 96 993 C4.

Bone stock, even factory lowered. Right now it is having a new front windscreen fitted. I did 5000 miles in this car over 4 months travelling and only filled it with fuel. I did melt the air ducting on top of the fan in 40 degree heat. Duly replaced. They don't make them like this anymore.



Ultimately I will move these on to loving owners and perhaps do one major project with an earlier car taking inspiration from ddk and IB or may try to source a 964 as a keeper I'm not sure...I like driving these cars more than lying under them !
