Nope, I think it's a wise move. I always thought the decals were too random on this car and needed to be more cohesive.

Certainly think from a sales perspective the de-stickering is a good idea.

Has it been advertised elsewhere or are you not keen to open it up to the endless requests for photos?

I am in a lucky position; the car has a value in my mind (backed up by some respected specialists). I am happy to keep it and enjoy but if the right offer from any source comes along irrespective of how many pictures I need to send I know I can find another classic to keep me happy and put a few quid in the bank....win win ...as far as I'm concerned.

I have just decided to ring the changes to keep it fresh, any alternative livery suggestions given full and proper consideration.....

Winter tinkering, Did the Jerry Woods carb mod to control fuel surge . Pretty easy really.







And a snap with no livery outside an old workshop in deepest dorset

Today I have counterbored my Weber carb's outboard throttle shaft bearings, Paul Abbott at Performance Oriented suggested only bushing the outermost bearings since I had so little wear. Bit nerve wracking but it seems to have gone well.

I'll post pics after I've made new bushes.

A little bit of phosphor bronze for the bushes.

Conterbore one more carb to do.

Fitting using soft alloy washers to prevent marking.

I made some solid couplings too since the springy bent metal ones are meant to be problematic.


Just got to thoroughly clean and reassemble now.

I thought the split springy joiners were to account for expansion across the carbs?
