Last year I was taken out around silverstone in this freshly built car ... one of the best passenger rides I’ve ever had . Went like stink in a straight line , had no brakes compared to modern stuff and was wonderful drift cornering on cross plies. Can’t emphasis though how much grunt it had ( bear in mind id been driving a friends Ferrari 488 challenge car and this tvr still felt quick)

I didn't mean to take this thread off topic - maybe one of the moderators could move the relevant posts to a new thread called something like 'Can you identify these wheels ?' ...

James - was that car road registered/did it have a registration number ?

Bear in mind my passenger ride with Gerry Marshall was on public roads ...

My old bug, pretty much my first car and owned for 12 years, there have been others (Audi coupe, 944, mk2 golf and a couple more beetles that never saw the road) but struggling to find any pics sadly.

Bootsy, loving your old vw pics, remember quite a few of those being featured in volksworld back in the day.

We like a challenge. I failed at that, but did deduce that you had a) just washed it, and b) also had a silver Renault 5 GT Turbo. How was that? I was always tempted, but never committed...

Fabulous car history by the way. There is something about going in the loft and getting out old photos and letting them be seen again in the digital age

Love this 'TVR Drift'.
At school I had 2 dream cars, a Marcos and a TVR. Asked, Jem Marsh sent me a catalogue of the Marco and Mini Marcos.

Drove a Marcos V6 last year on a hill and it was...disappointing, give me my 911 any day.

Never been in a TVR but still have a yearning, but fear I would be disappointed.
There is a great story of one in this month's Octane which is no help to me!

As to passenger rides, a full balls-out blast in a Datsun 240Z down some Norfolk roads going to an old USA airforce base scrapyard (Hevingham?) at 7 in the morning was memorable.

Always fancied doing a Vixen with a Rover V8.
I also love thread drifts, the best, wheels and all.
