Been a while since i have had a chance to update the thread, lots of progress since my last update earlier in the summer.
Car is painted and the rebuild has started. I did have the faintest of hopes that i would have been driving the car at the end of the summer, i was being a little to optimistic i reckon, given the usual ups and downs when restoring these cars and then of course having to deal with COVID.
As i mentioned in my last update the shade of silver the car is painted will not be to every ones taste but i love it. the car looks completely different whether its outside in the sun or inside.
Rebuilding the car has started running gear is on the car, the car is being put back together by someone who is known on this forum and i have used on previous builds. all parts have been restored over the last couple of years so putting it back together shouldnt take long.......more on the final spec of the car later.
Gear box is rebuilt which only leaves the engine.............this is the one part of the build which is pending.......cases, crank, heads, pistons, barrels, conrods etc have all needed work, my engine builder will only use one or two specific individuals for this work, its evident that the experienced reliable machine guys are few and far between as some of my machine work is still on a waiting list, after 15 months....Any way in the grand scheme of things this hasnt really held up the build.

Very nice indeed. I love GT Silver on modern Porsche GT cars and it suits the old stuff just as well.
