A lot of that is on my 'doorstep' if I ignore the 2 hours to get there, but it is a good 2 hours of decent road.
We often do the triangle but stop off at the large reservoir for a good walk and tea and a big slice Bara Brith to start with.

However, never done it in the old 911 just the Boxster and the Z4 before it.

Great roads, some hot drivers/riders at times but all respectful imho.
In the sun, Wales is just superb.

Maybe Nigel can help?
He certainly now has the resources.
Mike watched him struggling to match Feroz's typewritten notes to the squiggles on the road map and - half way through the journey - stopped at a stationers and purchased a yellow highlighter and gifted it to our navigator... :)

Thanks Mike, now 2 years in and I'm just getting the hang of it.
It certainly is nice being able to go on road trips at short notice. If the weather is predicted good, you can just go....

I like the triangle, those roads are wonderful.
But it is too well publicised, too well policed and - at the weekends - too full of exuberance.
I drove the first lap conservatively, then a little quicker once it appeared quiet.
But, you'd be well advised to drive elsewhere and still enjoy very fine roads.

One of my favourite stretches was the B4391, leading out of Llangynog.
I’ve driven that route a good few times, often running down the valley. In the early morning it is spectacular.
On an earlier trip I recollect following Feroz & Darren in their early 911’s. I was in my 993RS and couldn’t keep up.
For this trip we drove the opposite direction, up the mountain and over the moors on higher ground.
I believe the rear-engined 911 is at it's best powering uphill and this road has maximum elevation and thrills a plenty.
Remarkably we had no hindrance and caught not a single vehicle. One of those perfect, clear runs.

If you travel in the other direction the views down the valley are better, but going up (and with the sheer drop on your side of the road) is - for me - the better drive. :)

I found the EVO triangle a bit of an anti-climax when I did it last year with Feroz. No doubt it it is a wonderful piece of road, with variations in surface, width, altitude and views, but (I think we were there on a Saturday morning) too many marked and unmarked police cars and bikes to allow any speed much beyond 70mph, all a bit slow for the GT350R. As Paul says there are many other roads available with less policing.

I think that is a generic problem for any modern sports car on most U.K roads. I sold my GT3 as I was going way too quick when having fun hence the switch to older cars. The tight twisty stuff was probably too narrow for the 350.

The best bit if road for me was the B4401 NE out of Bala, that's certainly not very wide!
