i'm not sure we should be comparing the size of DDK members kits... at least not in public

at least if it rains those of us who travel "minimalist" can shelter under more substantive canvas

I spoke to Eion Sloane (Race car bloke) over the weekend . . . things are starting to move on the PCGB front and an announcement will be made shortly.

I suppose having your own DDK display is a good idea (especially because it means you don't have to be a boring old PCGB member) . . . but the 'big' Porsche gathering is pretty spectacular and cool to be in. Oh well . . . I'll come and say hi . . . if I can find you

(now there's a challenge).

I have to say I just renewed by PCBG membership last week specifically to qualify for the PCGB/PCF tickets for Classic LeMans which were excellent last time around, that and the Early 911 register secretary said he'd break my legs if I didn't

I've never done the LM Classic, driven abroad, or anything really

. What's the basic deal here: we wait and see if PCGB do a special package deal? Or do we need to be buying tickets/camping space now?

I figure if I'm venturing across the water (even if it is only the channel) now's the time to be big and brave: I'm sure the 14 would enjoy it, and you could all laugh at me for converting to RHD a few weeks before leaving for a LHD country ....

Barry, the greatest joy is taking these cars abroad, there is something about driving them on continental roads thats special, it might be the lack of traffic, the quality of the autoroutes, the beautiful country roads or just the fact that people seem to appreciate classic cars on the road more over there.

Just done Spa, have I mentioned that Viv! via the chunnel, arrived, drove straight on, no waiting. Fantastic.

Same coming back, left Spa at 10am walked in the door in Weybridge, Surrey, 2.25pm! Takes longer to drive to Manchester.

but then why would you want to go there..........

I've already got my name against the PCGB package, but like Barry, what is the deal here?

If DDK's doing it's own thing, then I'm in.

Perhaps it's a bit early, but can anybody clarify?

I'll be booking the PCGB package because the 2004 package worked so well.

Last time it consisted of tickets, open pit access & access to restricted areas ( no general public) , access to the Porsche hospitality etc. PCGB also organised the forms etc for booking camping @ Maison Blanche.

Don't forget the 'Parade Laps' too

PCGB deal is yet to be announced.

Didn't cost too much last time either. We all organised the ferry our selves ( approx £85 car with 2 passengers) + ticket cost + camping + parade laps

When PCGB finally decide what the package is,can someoneon here(who's also a PCGB member)let us know.As I'm not giving £60 for a membership(with any club)unless there's seriously good incentives.

And I don't mean 5% off an exhaust...

Considering that I just booked a return ferry to France for £50!
