I wished I had carried on with my learning curve on these engines but with one thing and another I dropped out and forgot alot!

I do wish these guys would pass on the details I managed to gain alot from John Lucas RIP John nice guy.. but at this rate it's becoming an issue the lack of people to ask.

My view is this.. Andy v Barry/John/Eric

Andy knows how to bring the engines right up to spec and improve them all with new parts.. and races them himself.

Barry/John/Eric raced and built these engines on a shoe string, used the bare number of new parts and indeed mixed up engines to make one good engine.

Both are right!

One costs more than the other. One is very reliable the other is also reliable. One is very much learn how you go with alot of trial and error. Knowing what parts you can reuse and when is years of understanding the part and the risk game I don't blame Andy for not playing that game and fitting a new part. he has to warantee his work.

I hope what I have said translates to what I am saying all of the names are right and build great engines. It's just what I have understood from me looking in at the whole thing.. it's very sad that Barry and Eric have slowly come to an end on these.. It's still a great loss losing John local to me. I will have to get back on the engine rebuild horse and learn again.

So £39,995 was a little strong after all. How about £34,995?

I've seen the car and it is lovely. Full recent documented resto. At £35k can see the attraction although shame not original colour.

Could you provide a link to "Gavins car" for sale, just to see what the top of the market should look like?

Thank you
