Mikes now got most of work to engine bay complete.
Image Image
Notice in second photo, rev limiter fitted on panel beside cdi boxes. This can be set at limit of choice. After running engine in,Mike recommends 7200 rpm.
Will also be installing an "idiot light", (no wise cracks please) .on dash.Haven't decided where yet,be good to use one of the warning lights on
gauges,Mike suggested trying to source oil pressure gauge with the extra warning light. Any other suggestions?
Regards,

Before Mike can fire up engine, work installing fuel tank has to be completed.

This includes welding strut brace mounts in place, and attaching brackets for fuel tank strap.Mike has made these brackets up, similar to originals, but modified so that fixing bolt can swivel within the bracket.

A wee update,
Mike has been busy on the rear arms. Ally arms were modified to have 930 calipers fitted to the rear of disc. the arms also had the anti-roll bar mounts removed, so the arm had to be drilled out and the pin re-fitted into the arm, the pin was threaded to the same as a 911/930 rear suspension arm and now both types of rear anti roll bar can be fitted, this pin can also be fitted to a later SC arms with the threads and be back dated to fit the early car. Finally powder coated, ready to be rebuilt and fitted.

Nice work on rear trailing arms. Black powder coat is actually very good idea. I will replace my steel ones with ally so could you share more photos/details regarding brake caliper mount? Did you just test fit rotors and calipers to find correct location? Or did you have 930 trailing arms to compare? It might be better idea to add mount to trailing arm rather than typical caliper modification.

Martin, sourced headers from USA. Bought second hand from a guy on Pelican. Not to expensive, considering they had never been fitted.and were like new. On the plus side ,they were the size Mike thought we might need,(40mm inside diameter),on the minus side, there's a lot of welds that could fail. At best,if they don't last,we'll have an idea if there anywhere near the correct diameter.

Hi Samu,
I bought the arms with brackets already fitted. The guy I bought them from said he used somebody in Germany to do the work.
Here's some more photo's,

Great work and a lovely project. I'm really interested in wiring 2 CDI boxes for twin spark . Are the boxes the same as my 75 one and how would I wire them ( I'm only a mech electrics are scary)?
