Had a day in the garage, so got cracking with the seat frames. decided to use porsche 944 seat runners as they have the right runner length and they also run an ball-bearings for a smoother adjustment. Here's what i've come up with so far, before l weld them up. :)

And with the seat on the frames.

Ian, thought about what you said regarding tilting seats and will incorporate them later. Need to locate the hinges and figure out how to fabricate a locking mechanism. Otherwise under heavy braking will tend to tilt??

Amazingly my car now has paint on!

Was hoping to get it back tomorrow but its looking like it will be next week now. Another week come and gone...

Chances of getting it ready for Stoneleigh is pretty much zero now :(

Paint still needs flattening/polishing and the panels refitting and aligning.

Pics soon...maybe!

Have been uming and arring about the bucket seats with the slots - are they back breakers - due to non adjustment? I suffer from lower back problems so this is my consideration.

Look forward to your pics!

As for the seats... if you have back problems, might be better of with MX-5 seats. they are the only ones that fit well enough and can be moved about.

Hi Ian,

Yes changed my mind about the flat six as i dont think my skills would be up to the challenge and the chassis from Speedster clinic is different to the chesil type. Im going for type 4 basis now but will prob change again when i get around to building it!!

it's well over due. Maybe it's a good job you can't have it till next week, you'll have to treat the Mrs on Valentines to soften the blow of the paint job  glad to here your letting them hang the doors, boot and bonnet. Wise move...

Will let you know how comfy the bucket are?? Made the frames to sit me at a good position, but might miss the Mazda seats. I found them really comfy.

Good job she wasn't in, i'd have been skined alive?? l think she's kind of got an idea what l get up to when i'm home alone as the garage is linked to the dinning room via a door. So dont get missed out when the kettle's on...
