A bit more progress

Post by haasad »

I'm sure this should be in the resto section now. Sorry :)

Even handbrakes can be lightweight

I got bored with waiting to source some fixed quarter light bits so made my own trims from rubbers I blagged at Autogass.

Finished headliner and door edge trimming.

Loving it :)

I've spotted a potential weight save

Those 964 doors with side intrusion beam are about 2kg heavier than old school 911 :)

Just fitted one to the drivers side of mine and decided that I'd live with the extra weight for a hint of safety!

Good spot .

However in my defense There are no side bars on my cage and experience has taught me that side impacts at T junctions hurt :?

Classic Le Mans is possible as long as my numbers come up on Saturday night

Hmm billet alloy doors :drunken:

Hi Andy.

I saw your post over on Pelican BBS. What tyre size did you go with in the end? 205/50 r15?

Would be great to see a picture and pick your brains regarding ride height when you have time :)

Car is looking very cool...

Chriss,

its not on the ground yet so i won't have any ride height pictures for a while.

A048's in 205 /50 Not fitted yet so might yet come up in profile.

To sticker or not to sticker ? That is the question

Post by haasad »

As the oily bits move forward I have turned my mind to stickers. I have some great stuff ie Bilstein, Martini Shell etc but think that I may pay full respect to Mr G Larousse and the '69 Tour De France Auto since his performance and that car were part of my inspiration.

I can get this livery produced for really sensible money but am not 100% sure if I can live with it over time.

As ever, opinion and comment sought.

And me! Just plain, the detail you've added to the car will be more than enough to keep people looking.
