Yep - Ibis Rouen Centre Rive Gauche Saint Sever on the Wednesday - just need to find somewhere for the Tuesday night.

Oh - and need to book the extra time off for good behaviour from The Boss.

Need to do the same to my brother in law's new fiancee too.

Now, where's that hard hat?

Dave, at the risk of sounding like we have no imagination and always do the same thing every year, my wife and I have been to/through France each of the last 4 years and always make our last night at le Touquet, if you've not been before there's enough to keep you occupied, plenty of good bars and there's a superb fish restaurant that we go to http://www.restaurantperard.com/index.php always rounds our trips off nicely and not too far from ferries etc

For those of you staying over Sunday night I was thinking of going off and finding the old Rouen Grand Prix circuit. Have located it on Google and it would be a nice way of finishing of the trip.

For those of us @ Rouen on Sunday night, look whats on :

This year's Classic clashes with the Rouen Armada, a Tall Ships event, which is held every five years.

In 2003 the event attracted 7 million spectators plus an additional 2 million along the banks of the Seine whilst the ships were arriving and, in particular, departing.
If you are returning from the Classic via Rouen on Sunday 13 July it might be worth bearing in mind that there is an Iggy Pop concert at 21:00 that evening, followed by a fireworks display at 23:00. Rouen quayside is likely to be buzzing well into the early hours that night.
This year's departure starts at 09:30 on Monday 14 July, Bastille Day, which is a public holiday. Traffic disruption around Rouen is inevitable, and the areas around the Normandie and Tancarville bridges will also be heavily affected during that day.

Visiting abandoned circuits is something I've done an awful lot of.
Rouen Les Essarts I looked at en route to Le Mans about 5 years ago... and should warn you that it's a bit of a heartbreaker - very little left at all:

Leave early enough from the circuit and you could go all the way to Reims. Unlike Rouen it offers fantastic photo opps, as well as the opportunity to blat past the pits full pelt...

Anyone know if there are problems with the M20/A20 route? Heard that there were major roadworks and should use the M2/A2 instead

Quite easy to find and plenty of Champagne houses nearby too

As you may already have read, Caen Group route, the Caen group will not be stopping at Sees so that we can all meet up and go to Le Mans in convoy on the Thursday morning. I therefore suggest that we decide what route etc to take over a cool beer in that lovely square in the middle of Rouen on the Wednesday night

I've looked at the map & there looks a nice road running west of the N138 after Sees

The D26 to Alencon then out on the D30

then follow the D21 all the way to Conlie.

The onto Arnage how ever the sat nav takes us

If you follow this road down you can keep on the 'D' roads all the way to LeMans

I suppose a lot will depend on how wet the roads are.

Did that route in 2005 James to the main race, a lot quieter and not a single rozzer
