Mark, I can't offer you any wise words on metal work (or much else... ) but I'm always so impressed by the way you just get on with it. Keep your chin up when it gets tricky... "everything will be OK in the end and if it's not OK, it's not the end"

Easy!
You are away with the mixer now, all done by friday or sooner.
The wheel guards explain why it was not found before.

I took my 911 for it's MoT today and he had a torch up everywhere, inc all the inner wings.

Everything ok except the LH handbrake was weaker than the RH one, so he failed it. :(
It's been one of those days....

You are an inspiration Mark.
Yesterday morning I thought it would be a long time before we would see 'after' pictures and they are brilliant.

shame about the rust, but loving your hands on attitude to getting it sorted . Repairs is looking good

Would bea shame to loose some of the 'crustyness' on the outer panels though .. I think they add some real charactor to your car 8)

Maybe Mark should try just lacquering the bare metal of the two new repaired wings so everyone can see his handy work. Very 'scene'

Crustiness will stay for the time being - ill have a bit more work to do on the new wing so will be refitting the original later this week.

Had a good day again today, but it was a harder bit to do with the two ribs ("for her pleasure")

Started with a bigger hole
Image

Started making something to help with the ribs
Image

Which seemed a good start
Image

(However I wasted 2 pieces with the ribs at the wrong angles)

I spent a long time shaping the piece. Eventually I decided I was taking on took much in one piece - changing one part messed up another part.

I therefore chopped it in half - this made it all a lot easier. Got that part welded in
Image

Finished up with this. Full days work but I knew this would be the hardest bit because of the ribs
Image

Tomorrow should hopefully be easier
