I bought an entire floor for my 2.2s in the same original dusty green covering.
Where did you get it from? Porsche?
When I bought mine 2 years ago there were only a handful of LHD and RHD version left. Did you buy one of the last?
If so well done. Mine arrived in a beautifully made wooden crate.

Ian, yes, it was direct from Porsche.
It needed some modification for use as I understand it's a later part number and probably originally for a turbo.
So, it's a faster floor than yours.

At that stage my car fitted just fine in the van.

A nice base for Chestertons to work upwards from.....

This reminds me more of an Aifix model everyday...................i hope u ve still got the box with the instructions on !

A bit more than the vin being retained I think. Haven't seen new lids, torsion tube, or .... em....ah.... doors?

Given the sunroof related damage, I'm guessing a roof was on the list.

Be interested to see how the labour vs panels equation stacks up. I have no bias against new metal and think there are plenty of benefits.

I’m sure many of you have ordered parts from your local OPC and been presented with a carrier bag.
Maybe even a box for your parts.
But I thought no one had been handed a box as big as mine....

Great thread with some super pictures Paul. Love the finished engine, looks lovely and follow up on Sams tip to finish it off.

With all these engine and even more so the body parts, you are not far off building a 2.7 Carrera from scratch!

You're going to be chuffed to bits once it is finished, if not slightly damaged in the bank account.


PS Never listen to Mike....he's great at spending other peoples money

Engine looks really fantastic - nice thing to have 'on the pallet' as it were. Body is a brave decision - the car is for you, but the economics of all of this are scary (ask me how I know....)

In my low moments of "jeez how am I ever going to get all this back together?" I spend time looking at the print Chris Jury put together for me and a picture of me blasting up Eau Rouge....

Be back there soon enough. I keep reminding myself to enjoy the journey and not focus on the destination....

But as James said to me last night, "just get your bloody suspension back on, it will all feel a whole lot better after that..."

Your car has a lot in common with Richard Murphy's Targa…….his is 95% original metal….you have the remaining 5%...

Good, because there's more parts that had been acquired from Porsche GmBH.
How about a pair of full-length longitudinals?

Front slam panel:

Sills, inners & outers.
Tank Support.
Hinge Pillars.
Kidney Bowls.
Jacking Tubes.
Jacking Supports.
Reflector Mount.
Rear Cross Member.
Bumper Section Supports.
Etc, etc.
