Mike, thinking about the Siffert connection whilst drinking a bottle or red.
Is the thinking that siffert purchased the car in early 1970 ?
As you probably know, siffert provided all the cars for the, Le Mans movie, including several 911 cars. I have these 2 images to hand, i am sure i have others. Could any of these be the Prototype ?
All of these cars were sold after filming was finished, apart from the 917 barn find
Would this period of time add up to its first UK registration ? I love a mystery.

This has been an absolutely riveting read so far!
What are your ultimate intentions with this obviously rather special car? If you would entertain an outlandish suggestion I think you should restore it and then give it to the DDK member who's birthday falls closest to the car's build date (I was born on 29/06/1968 by the way)
Bring on the rest of the history!

Mike/Brendan,
This story gets better and better

You have some difficult and complex decisions though regarding the car's restoration! Similar I guess to those the owner of the "Beirut" 2.7RS had to make, where I think the right decision to carry out a minimal restoration was made.

Anyone care to summarise the current thinking on this car?

Summary so far;
a couple of Porsche anoraks have been set up by you've been framed (and the 964RS boys) to think they have found a piece of Porsche prototype history.
They are going to restore the car then get a surprise when the cameras appear!

What they have found is a factory prototype LWB. The 32001x series was a set of bodies produced to evaluate the long wheel base to be used from 1969 onwards. Later the surviving bodies were renumbered with proper 1969 VIN's. So far three such cars are known to have been renumbered, and two are in known hands. 320010 became 911S 119300001, 320011 became 911S 119300002, 320012 became 911E 119200001. It is suspected that 320013 was also made. 320012 was apparently LHD originally, but when the factory disposed of it, the customer asked for a RHD conversion. It went through several notable hands in short order.

Excellent, thank you!
It was all the famous names suddenly appearing that seems too good to be true.
Surly it is a simple restoration?

Yes, just you.
Glad to see your lack of diplomacy, annoying posting and an ability to not understand or absorb the tone of a thread hasn't been lost and in fact has flourished since your last ranting and pointless annoying threads
