Brian worked closely with Vasek Polak and is a very approachable gentleman who helped me greatly with the research into my 959 prototype. Let me know if you need contact details Mike.

Dave, according to Frere, two 4 seater prototypes were built based on the B-series and used as "factory hacks". The one photo he shows is a two door (doesn't mention if the other was 2 or 4 door). I guess these could have been part of the 320 series.

Only one four-seater is referenced in the factory document I have and it was listed in 1967, not the 1969 B-series. Anything is possible of course, perhaps more were constructed later (and higher in the 32002x series). Do you have a book and page number reference? My library is temporarily inaccessible.

Just read this from go to whoa.
I enjoyed it very much, well done. Reminds me a bit of my own barn find and the research discovery once you "have the numbers".
Cheers from Adelaide.

Hi All
Congratulations on a very interesting find, just to mention Jo Siffert supplied many of the race cars and race replicas for the film "Le Mans" around the same time your car was imported, maybe you should take a closer look at the 911 Steve McQueens 917 (Lola) runs into the back of you never know.... Whats the relevence of the SWB tail lights, are the rear quarters true lwb panels without the lamp housings or some kind of hybrid or accident repair, possibly the revised lamp tooling was not finished when they were constructing their production prototypes so the earlier units were used to get the car giong.

It might be worth contacting the Midland Automobile Club at Shelsley Walsh.
There's a good chance that a local car enthusiast is or was a member.
Cheers!

PS - Fabulous story!

Just seen Johnny Tipler's photos of Race Retro and there is a Gulf Porsche (open racer - 90X ?) with Derek Bell and Jo Siffert as drivers - perhaps Mr. Bell might be able to help with the barn find story ?

Oh my, we may have to take up a collection for Mike. Seems we have read this thread so much that he has exceeded his allowable bandwidth on Photobucket, and he needs an upgrade. Price of popularity.

The Delaney character's car run into the back of a blue 911, but I did spot 2 or 3 white ones in the movie.
