you will have to be very observent to pick detailed inaccuracies in the orange car restoration above. It is much better than the Australian car. Based on those photos I can see three. Lovely car though.

You definately need the Konradsheim and Gruber "RS Carrera" book - it'll answer all your questions - I've got 8 of them !!!! yeah eight ! ( don't ask I can't help myself once I get started!)- so when you buy your car I'll do you a deal on one if you like - you can't have the car without the book ! it's all part of it !

Just think - how upset will you be when someone else buys the orange 471 ?

BTW , I was counting the tyres or wheel centres as I assume they are just 'workshop wheels' ?

I can spot:

1. Mole grip holding the battery cable on
2. No fuel flap
3. Special lightweight engine cover grille

Are these the three issues to which you refer

Anyway joking aside (and to spark a debate!

) how can you say exactly what should and shouldn't be on any particular car? Assuming we are not talking about 80’s wheels on a 70’s car or similar.

I used to work for the other prestigious UK low volume manufacturer (that isn’t in the north west!) and every car they made was slightly different as parts improved and evolved, and to some extent by the guy putting them together! A homologation special such as the RS, particularly competition focussed lightweights, may have also iterated car by car not just by exact model year split.

Any thoughts?

But I'll contact you about the book when the car is done, you're sitting on a pile there. The last one went for circa 1500gbp on Evil Bay.......Now think-on, I'm not about to be paying that much!

I really do love the look of the car, but that price is the new top of the market, and I don't want to be the one that tops it! 260K Fark me!

The car offered here, chassis number �9113601021� is a genuine RS Carrera Touring as listed on page 234 of the model�s �bible�: �Carrera RS� written and published by Gruber and Konradsheim. All numbers and specifications conform to the original factory build, including heated rear window, sports seats, outside mirror, and electric windows and sunroof, although the original Blaupunkt radio has been replaced by a modern version. This car was first registered by Glen Henderson Motors in Ayr, Scotland on 14th May 1973 and originally owned by one Edwin Butterworth. One of only three right-hand drive examples finished in Porsche Dalmatian Blue (referred to as Sea Blue in the UK market) this car was ordered without the model�s distinctive �Carrera� script decals and remains the same today. In terms of what's not correct on the Tangerine 'Lightweight', it depends on what photos you're looking at - the spec is different on Bootsy's photos as opposed to those on Russell's website...
