There are alternatives but they all have a larger 7inch screen. I liked the fact it didn’t look to large in our older cars.

I have a PCCM in my car, and it's good (because it is a neat installation)... but also a bit rubbish (price, glare, user-friendliness). The no-name Chinese / Amazon single DIN head units are a real lottery too... had one in my old Golf and it died, with its replacement having sporadic narcolepsy.
