On the track day I watched, they had a club official there at the start to check everyone for db, and then they left later on and the guy running the track day switched his Mx-5 exhaust to sports mode. The limit is pretty conservative, I think 103db at two thirds of maximum revs. A guy in his TVR was unable to participate.

Noise has never been an issue when I've been in the past, but maybe it is for proper club events at weekends. I'd imagine during the weekday it isn't an issue, though we did have to stop for a couple of hours between 12pm and 2pm or something for the local residents. We just chilled and ate our food.

Depending on the date I could be interested. Either in my 356 SC or they 997 C2. It all depends on getting things to sync with my shift pattern really. I also have a mate with a 944 who might want to come. He's been to Curborough before with a Pug 205 many years ago.

While I have done many events on 2 wheels, I've never been on track in a car. That might be interesting.

Using the proper start down at the bottom has more risk of a messy one as you enter the left hander pretty quick. Also easier to manage with all the people at the top coming straight out of the car park rather than organising a start at the bottom.
That's the best bit, one of the best corners of the year for me!

Hi All

I would be up for that, a home fixture for me, about 20 mins from home so could possibly do a 912 / 550 Spyder combo!

I have done a couple of private days there and there were no noise checks and we were free to do the old style course and then we flexed and did the cut through. Been a couple of years though so it might have got dull.

Just a quick update - I'm struggling to get dates out of the club management at the moment. Have chased a few times, will continue to pester.

Right - check your diaries, I finally got a date out of Curborough for an air-cooled / DDK member track day. How does Thursday 28th April work for people? Or is that too little notice?

Assuming we can get 10 or more the cost would be around £100 each for a full day. I was thinking of starting with DDK members and opening it to others (ideally air-cooled / early Porsche) if I need to get the numbers up. I'd need bank transfers in advance. We'd need 10 people/cars to cover the booking and insurance and if we get more, we could reduce the cost a bit and give any extra to the DDK charity.

In a day we'd get plenty of runs in. Noise limit is 105dB, no drifting or donuts (edible kind is fine).

Attending to watch / socialise would be free / donation. Anyone wanting to attend would be welcome to use the event as an informal meet to swap parts etc. if they wanted.

Please let me know if you're interested and can make the date so I can gauge numbers and see if it's viable.

I can’t make that day unfortunately Rob. Season opener that weekend at Anglesey and booked the rolling road for the Friday, so all a bit tight for me

Thanks for organising though.

Hi guys,
I'm going to have to can this as I've only got two or three definites and we need double that to make a half-day worthwhile, and more than ten to make a full day work. I've quite a few things going on at the moment, too much for me to chase people down and go and find the necessary numbers. Maybe another time.
