Good progress Mark. Don't forget to backdate the engine lid to 68-69 spec.

Made a final trip to the body shop last week, glad to say the shell is complete, two final items the modification of the 100l tank and the modification of the bonnet for the filler neck and cap along with fitting of a set of Cibie's on the bonnet will happen early next week, by the end of the week the shell will be on its way to the paint shop.

All side lights, window frames have been fitted and all the panels have been gapped, very pleased with the end result, especially the rear arches and flaring of the rear bumpers.

Next decision will be colour choice, more on that shortly...….

Rear arches have taken a lot more work than we originally thought, the fibre glass R arches I got hold of were only a little help, trial and error and many hours later this was the end result:

roll cage modified and fitted:

finally rear deck lid modified, I was not aware that 68 deck lids were one year only, slightly different that 67 and 69 lids

I do like the shape of those rear arches - In hindsight I wish I'd done something similar.

Wonderful project Mark and great progress.........a build I'd very much like to emulate one day when the current cars are sold to be my last ever early 911.

Very cool 8)

Thanks Darren, a wide bodied later car is something on my list to. I see your project is at a similar stage to mine....attention to detail is outstanding..

Been a while since I posted an update, the car has spent the last 3 months at the paint shop. Progress has been a little slower than expected for obvious reasons, but glad to report that the first bolt on parts are in paint. Satin black will be laid down next week, paint will follow on the shell and the rest of the bolt on parts once the spray sealer arrives

Inspiration for the colour choice came from Rod Emory 356 hot rod builds and the original paddy McNally T/R...…

So colour of choice is "GT Silver" as per the Rod Emory 356, probably not one for the purists...…. bumpers and a few other parts in paint

Not for the purist but looks outstanding! It’s a hot rod so I am glad you did what pleases you.

Going to look stunning Mark. You hotrodding the interior too ? I’d be tempted with saddle brown leather vintage sport buckets ( just realized, like the Emory car also has )

Thanks for positive feedback, for along while the car was going to be painted in a more purist colour, standard silver, Ivory or polo red. As soon as I clapped eyes on the Rod Emory car I new I had found the right colour.

Interior will be more to the purist taste....a light weight stripped out interior in line with what you would have found in a T/R, more to follow on that when we start the rebuild, which hopefully isn't to far away.
