Yuck! Sorry I hear that. Anything I can do to help (before or after the drive)?

I wish I was going with you, but as it is I’m in the Loire Valley suffering wonderful roads, very little traffic and up to 30 degrees of heat in my 356 which is running beautifully after it’s rebuild.

I’ll be thinking of you

A few had to drop out for various reasons during the week and the weather forecast sealed the fate of few others.
But we still managed to muster a decent group for this years drive
Thanks Neil for organising again.

Was nice to see everyone that made it, lovely company as always and we ended up having a great day.
Starting point was the Cotswolds Distillery, a great place to visit, very friendly and accommodating, they loved the cars.

And yes it did rain but it didn't dampen our spirits.

Then it was time for a bit of driving.......in the RAIN

Approximately 90 minutes later we arrived at Bidford on Avon and parked up with a local VW meet.

And it actually stopped raining :)

Flat battery for Ben, Neil to the rescue.
Hopefully Ben made it back up to Manchester ok?

Final stop was the boozer, Sunday lunch at the Fish at Wixford.
As us 912'ers pulled into the car park we wondered why Neil's 356 didn't follow us and carried straight on :?

The reason Neil's 356 didn't follow us into the pub car park, brake failure.
Cool though the way he sorted a colour coordinated recovery truck :)

Great pics and write up Danny. So sorry we couldn’t be there too. And I hope Neil gets his brakes sorted soon.

Great to catch up with those who made it, despite the challenges the weather threw at us. I got back up north safe and sound thanks Danny, battery was fully charged by time got home so it must have been something to do with the insane amount of water the car absorbed on the way down that messed with the electrics. Thanks to Neil for his on hand jump leads and to Barry for his very kind offer of a battery swap to get me back home.
I hope the wait wasn't too long for the RAC Neil - nice to see they provided a matching colour recovery vehicle :) And good luck with the repairs - whatever you do, don't get that same numpty who recently fixed the master cylinder to fix it this time round ;)

And great photos as always Danny

Cheers
