Update time

Now to finish of the through the bonnet filler. As the bonnets are double skinned, something suitable was needed to fill the gap.



After chatting to shambly on here at one of the shows. He informed me he has one last bonnet ring that he had made. So the deal was done after he found it.

After receiving it wanted to put my stamp on it and reduce the the top shoulder of the ring from 13mm to 5mm. The part that you see from outside the car. This created a problem as the underside had a drip channel that is machined into the top shoulder, if the top shoulder was to be reduced the overlap would be down to 1/2mm. So this drip channel needed to be filled with weld then lathed flat to be able to reduce the top ring down to 5mm.





And now with a new drip channel machined in.



Just need to open the holes up a little in the bonnet for a tight fit.

Quick update, the final piece of the jigsaw.

Glad l went the extra mile to reduce the shoulder even though it was a pain in the ass at the time...
