Hi Graham. I dropped 2 pairs of exhausts off for you this morning, hope they were still there when you got back from Shelsley. They're both straight through so may be useful to gauge the different sounds they make, I would guess they will be a little louder than your current silencers even if they don't look great.Have a play if you feel the need.
Regards
Matt

Yep, there when we got back at 3pm, no probs.and thanks for them.
The black ones look interesting. I'll give them a try later when the flippin' thing is ready!
Alignment all day today and body on and pinned is planned, and maybe another brake bleed too.
I'm sure there are a 100 other bits to do as well.....
Off to Bobs on sat morning so a bit to do for that in the 18 hours I think I have left!
Bits everywhere still.

Set the car up today using fishing line and a camber gauge. Easy job and all is well except for a little surprise in the driveshaft department (where else on this car?)
Hope to overcome it with two large spacers.
I have just 4 evenings to get it ready to trailer to Bob Watsons for the engine tune. GULP!
Looks like this tonight:

Ha!
I'd taken the front body braces off so the front will not stay level now, hence the wood props...
I look forward to the car after Bob's had a tinker about.
I just love this car even after 8 months of blood and tears and a bit of sweat

Spotted a problem Graham

, where's the DDK sticker
Did you say you were giving it it's first run on the 11/12 July?
When looking closely at your car the attention to detail is amazing, you've done a brilliant job in such a short time.
Can't wait to see it running

Thanks Matt. It's been a long time really, I started in October!
Plan is for Loton mid July meets, about 45 weekends away.
I hope to do a private day at Curborough first incase something goes pop.
It will be quite an experience after the 911 and the Impreza!

What a fantastic project. It looks great.
Are you planning a run at Shelsey?

Most definitly!
(assuming I get an entry that is)
The car is so low and small the 911 lookes HUGE next to it.
I'm hoping for about 230 bhp and a lot of torque (230 would be nice) and as it weighs 560Kg so about 400 bhp/tonne.
Should be nippy.

I am sure you'll get an entry, I can't wait to see it in the flesh-
I would love to build something like this one day- any other Sports 2000 rolling chassis out there?

Car now in safe hands at Bob's.
He thinks a twin turbo conversion would be nice and lag-free..
I think he's been sniffing race fuel for too long!
I can now take a 2 week rest on hols, and then flat-out for a test day and I hope the first hillclimb.
I STILL have a list to do.

It looks great, Graham!
There won't be any problem keeping up the enthusiasm when you have it back from Bob's all tuned up and raring to go................
Hols mean you won't be at Loton next week-end?
See you soon!
Cheers!

Back from hols, and back from Bob's.
I just want to say how fab it runs!
Starts easy, even tick-over, but the blatt on tweeking the throttle is sublime. You should hear it on blipping the throttle.
Great job done by Bob as always, and the car is so much further forward now.
The race is on well and truely. The first hillclimbs (practice/sorting/tweeking) are entered for mid July, and I have 22 things to do on the latest list...
Lots to do this weekend then!
I certainly feel up for it now.
Am I ever lucky!
