I have just been speaking to the Hotel ref rooms

There are now only 2 rooms left from my original booking , but she does have another 7 availble, but they could go at any time.

If you have not booked your room, I advise you to do so ASAP

28 rooms booked for Friday night

Based on my list, we have 33 rooms booked for Saturday night so far.

'Tis booked, although I cut it fine as t'internet was down monday/tuesday.

I gather I've had the last 'DDK' room, but they do have a few suites / disabled* rooms left.

*Basically the same as the standard double but with handrails and lowered baths.

This hotel is now completely full. I'm going to find an alternative locally, but for us it's not a big deal since we'll be arriving at very-late-o'clock, in time for the rendevous sat AM.

I'll post here if I find a good local alternative that others may also need.

We only live 20mins away so shall be joining the 'craic' in the evening but not staying.
This hotel I don't know - but it is literally just across the road/river from The Swan. - 3 minutes walk bar to bar.

As I'm a slow starter......the Swan is now full.

Recommendations are Newby Bridge or Lakeside.

Any one else in the same boat and have had to book an alternative to the Swan?

Michael, if want to join everyone for a beer etc on Friday night, then the one Vicki has pointed out would be the most convenient as you could walk .

If you're not too bothered then there are some nice hotel near Grange over Sands

From memory, some DDK'ers have stayed here before

For info - Newby Bridge is min 2 nights stay on a weekend and Lakeside Hotel (recommended by The Swan) is £200/night B&B with £100 non-refundable deposit.

Top tip regarding Newby Bridge Hotel ,
If you book through lastminute.com it's coming up with one night for £108.00, so, no two night minimum. I haven't booked myself yet ,but it might be worth a try.

I am going to have to drop out of C2C for this year, as in reality there is no way my car will be back on the road for then.

I have booked a room for the Friday and Saturday, so anyone that was not originally booked could take over my room - PM me.

Really disappointed, and thanks to James for organising, but it wouldn't be the same in the Alfa
