finally the ducktail arrived !!, it has been specially made on the original engine lid, they made a polyester ducktail on top of the original decklid wich works perfect and fitment is excelent , we had this done because al the ducktails around have a bad fit .
Since this is a first product of this company some sanding down was reguired:





the parts have been painted the beautiful slate gray with glasurit paint.
the body will be paainted this weekend. so basicly reasembling starts in 2 weeks, can't wait !!

Now the real fun begins! Great colour choice.

So those pics make me want to give up work to do a rebuild. It'd have to include learning to weld and paint (two things I have wanted to be able to do for ages). Trouble is, I like work and it has useful pecuniary advantages!

Nice looking job by the way, can't wait to see more progress. Great colour too.

finally got the car in the garage so the rebuild can start.

funny colour 'slate grey' in different light conditions it varys from light grey to green gray to brouwn gray to black.

haven't done that much , still sorting out rubbers parts etc etc, just wanted to show you what a brand new gastank looks like in the front...

have done some very nice reasembling things in the last few days.
got the front level bar in :

Got the rear arms in place with the new rubbers that took me some time to get them fitted and we had made a wooden marker thing to measure the heights of the springpates :



also managed to fit the handbrake cable and the heater boxes :


looks like a monster truck :

boy what a nice work to do with all parts new plated coated and new parts no need for dirty clothes any more !

Slate grey is a great colour, not just because of the Steve McQueen connection.

one more question, I lost both bolts that need to go in the lower part of the shocks that bolts the schocks to the big ball joint. I went to the porsche dealer and they gave me 2 bolts that are totally treaded while I have the idea that the first part of the bolt needs to be non threaded and the last parts is ( due to the fact that that part goes thru the ball joint ) hope this makes sense here is the bolt I am reffering to :

have to get the ride height adjusted the adjuster is pressed down to hard now.
probably has to come off and refitted again.
tommorow I will put the brake disks on.etc.

99.99% sure you have been given wrong item by dealer !! (Bolt)

From memory it's a "wedge" type fitting - pulled into place by nut on threaded portion ... this ties the two pieces together firmly.
Should not be too hard to pick up - but it's a specific part.

@cortina,
there are 2 types that where used the wedged bolt + nut you mention and just one bolt, I have the latter.
