My update is I received my Prince in the post today and it is in fabulous condition but I tried it out in the car and was very disappointed. It is just so loose and, well, insecure. Maybe I'm missing something so if any of you folks have more pictures of Prince seats installed I'd really love to see them.

The eBay 'xps arrived this afternoon, and fitted nicely

I need to use the low profile Porsche seat belt bolts rather than the chunky ones that came with my harnesses as they foul on the sides of the booster. However they still go in, they would just go back a little further without the foul though.

I'm off to do a quick 250 miles around Wales tomorrow with the whole family so they will be fully tested by the evening!

Looking at this arrangement, it looks like the shoulder straps are too far apart and the child could slip through the belts. The clamp position is designed for a lap and diagonal belt.

1967 911 and 912's had a top mount for the seat belt in the rear shelf

To some extent I agree, however for my kids they sit really well on the shoulders and they are always tight, not as you can see on on Em in the picture.

Believe me, if it was anything less than safe they wouldn't be in there

I am looking for a solution for my 2 year old, but she will probably be 5 before she rides in the 65 912 !!!

Just wondering if a 3 point belt would be better, as per the 1967 MY cars

My kids (4 and 6) have only just gone in the back. Until recently I couldn't take them both and one of them went on the front seat in a conventional forward facing child seat with a mini 5 point harness.

Until they are around 4 they can't use a three point belt on a booster seat like the ones pictured.

At least we don't have to worry about turning the passenger airbag off!

why's that Gary ? I haven't yet moved my youngest ( who is almost 3 ) into the Maxi-Cosi Rodi but am considering it this year for the Audi

Normally they are just a bit short and the belt doesn't sit well on the shoulder and ends up under their chin, even with the seat on the lowest high adjustment. Also can you trust a three year old not to try and wiggle out from under the belt!

Mine have proper seat belt usage beaten into them from a early age to the point they now scream at me if I even start the car without their belts being done up. Maybe I've over done it... You can know too much

so has any one found a forward facing car seat for a two year old (with its integral 5 point harness) that can be held in by a 3 point static belt in a 1967 911/912

Not that go in the back seat

I also found the standard front seats in my car far too soft and unsupportive for a car seat to be stable when fitted. This is the main reason I put later tombstone seats in my car until recently when I fitted RS touring replica seats.

see my post on page1 ... I have had reasonable success with the britax freeway, but it is an old model & I don't think you can buy it still.

I had a Porsche Prince in my SC. I swapped the inertia reel lap belts for static lap belts. That way the seat wasn't quite so slack. The little pad that goes underneath the seat also helped make it a bit more stable.

Had exactly the same issue with mine - the front passenger seat was more like a bouncy castle for the little 'un , so they've come out and the whole lot is getting changed

I fitted new 3 point inertia belts in the car at the weekend and have also got a great condition second hand Prince off of EvilBay - but they really are a shocking fit, not sure how old the design is now but definitely not in keeping with more modern stuff. After speaking to a couple of folks on the Northern run on saturday that have also had Prince's it appears others have the same impression of them. Here's it fitted to mine



I think I'll do a bit more research on this now the car is running again....
