Hi Steve,

Cheers for that, and a great pic of Mike's car! I don't think I'll be going black though, at least for now. I'd like loud and bright!

I'd also love to see a pic of a Charteuse one; and I'd never noticed that there weren't any silver ones! Is that really true? :)

OT: Does anybody know about importing a foreign registered car? Can you keep the foreign plate, or do you have to get a new one? :?

Steve.

Steve

No RS's in silver.

I think foreign plates can be kept on imported car until MOT due. Not sure what the exact rules are but UK plates needed eventually.

Regards
Mike

Here's Jol Danzig's beautiful Chartreuse Touring:

- here's another Chartreuse Touring which shows how different this colour can look depending on prevailing lighting conditions:

Unless you owned the car abroad for at least 6 months you need to register it here virtually immediately. Most countries retain the registration plate and documentation, you will just have an export plate from Germany for example.

You will have to scrub chartreuse from your list of options if you want RHD. All 23 cars LHD...ask me how I know how

Gary

Thanks for your comments mate. I didn't know you cared

I always hear that there was problems with metallic adhering to the ducktails?

Having said that I've seen a metallic blue RS

according to the 'book' , no metalics were offered due to problems with the paint quality / finish on the fiberglass bits ( spoilers & bumpers)

But it does say there were exceptions to this rule , including an acrylic blue-violet ( no fiberglass bumpers & a standard decklid)

Ferry Porsche had the met silver-green

Louise Peich hada metallic silver-white

and a factory racing car had a VW metallic silver from the beginning ( other factory cars were later repainted in silver)

Brian had a metallic blue one if I recall apart from also owning the Ferry car.
