I might join you + Mike & Brendan etc too for the Sunday run back. Quite fancy a couple of beers in Rouen followed by a relaxing scenic drive back to Boulogne on the Monday .

The scenery in the hotel lounge is really nice too. You might not want to leave in a hurry come Monday. And you thought Brendan and me were just going back for the secure parking!!

Regards
Mike

Well I'm only going to reinforce the stereotype of Yorkshire men being tight in this post, but I dont fancy paying 95 euros for the Ibis, so we're booked in just down the road (about 2km from the Ibis) at the Etap Rouen Petit Quevilly http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/ ... otel.shtml

Singles from 36 euros, doubles for 42 (sleeps up to 3) - more beer money for CLM

So for those of us wanting to go to CLM 2008 Via Dover :

return Monday 14th @ 17.10, arrives 17.00 GMT

Cost is £56.00 return

+ Overnight stay @ Rouen , then meet with the Caen group at Sees, Thursday morning.

Those booked so far :

James ( hot66)
Will
Brendan
Mike
James & Tracy
Derek & Caroline
Dave
Phil
HI James,

I'm really sorry for being a pain here, and I know that this is beginner stuff, but as befits my CLM spode status I have a request:

Could you list what time ferries I need to book on what days, there and back? Could you tell me what hotel in Rouen and how many nights? Could you tell me exactly what tickets I need to get for CLM? What day are most people coming back?

like you, using this much 'away from family' allowance will royally reduce anything else I can do this year, but I feel that this is worth it!

Thanks again James,

Sorry to be a pain,

Steve,

You should take a look at Sladey's 'Read Me First' post. Has most of what you need. Perhaps if you find any other info you would add it to Sladey's :)

Hi Steve

I'm booked on the ( www.speedferries.com) ferries :

Wednesday 9th July @ 14.20

return Monday 14th @ 17.10

Staying Wednesday 9th July & Sunday 13th July here :

You need one camping pass per car.

You need one CLM entrance ticket per person ..... these are being bought via Porsche Club France and have not been finalised yet. Bootsy will give notice of these when they become available

Thanks for that James!

I still have another couple of meetings to go to confirm absolutely the dates, so I may have to find alternatives, but let's hope not! This is a proper target for me now, my northern grit is fully engaged!

Cheers,

Steve. :)

My mate Stuart tells me he couldn't get a room at the Ibis hotel when he tried this morning.

He's now going to try here http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhotels/ ... otel.shtml

Last night I looked through my paperwork for CLM, and I've mistakenly booked the outbound ferry for TUESDAY 8TH JULY 14:20 crossing.

So there's 24hrs to kill in Northern France waiting for the rest of you to arrive at 16:10 on the Wednesday.

Might head to Le Touqet Paris Plage, which is supposed to be nice - any other suggestions?

Return ferry is right - 17:10 on the 14th.
