Now I'm partial to a bit of Pelican daily, but the need for speed to sang one of these was taking my Pelican time to new heights...
This was the first It tried to snag...
It was but the first of many to be seen and discussed.
It was a lucky break that I managed to find not one, but two gearboxes...images to follow...
Ode to Alan and Barry.. or a 72E Restoration

In the meantime Alan gathering the final parts that he had had renovated...
And was soon on the case with the newly painted shell..
And he was up and running assembling all the pieces of this full size kit...
Looks like a new car to me....
Now all of the work that had been done previously comes together at last.
Yup, kept the Boge struts...but hidden away are Koni's.. just the type of upgrade that will make the car a bit more exciting..
The quality of the workmanship is immaculate and Alan's custom made new brake lines are brilliant.
Fitting the new dash cover.
OK so its not an exactly correct 72 dash with the removable speaker grille but it is a correct new Porsche dash, probably from mid/ late 70s...and it fits rather well.
Now the rear end has received the same treatment..
The attention to detail is sheer pleasure to see..
The plated and painted suspension elements really come together well with the new shell...
Kept those...not even a respray....
She is currently sharing garage space with Alan's silver 2.2S RHD....
Looks good inside...
And up close.....
Still doesn't reveal the quality of the paint..
And naturally as clean under as over..
And once outside....
She really shows her curves...
According to Alan he has another week's work to complete the interior fit out, suspension etc and she's ready for the gearbox and engine to be refitted...
Luckily two gearboxes arrived yesterday for Mike to look over....
