I'll admit I do like to exercise the engine
Bizarrly though, high revs actually helped because it keeps some tension in teh chains. Its at the low revs when the chain slaps about & risks jumping on the cam gear.

Update :
Long Block is back together. We are now just waiting for the tinware to arrive back from the powder coaters.
Throttle bodies had a small crack around one of the mounting flanges. this has been welded up by a specialist & the bodies are now going for heat treatment.
One CV joint had a broken race. I have now replaced this & cleaned / overhauled the rest.
Plan is to have everything back together & the car running for 19th May which will give me a couple of days prior to Scotland
