A truly wondrous thing, Andy.

Apologies if I missed any previous posting but what are your plans when complete?

Will it be your regular Fairmile vehicle? If so, might need to make more of an effort.

Will these get the "curry" treatment?

The white plastic screws will ... although there's an update to come on the curry paste saga

OK, time for another update.

The car is now up & running - but not finished yet ... although the (initial) end is in sight ! :)

The car has been MOT'd & is now insured & taxed - in case you haven't seen my posts from earlier today in the 'Porsche picture of the day' & 'Porsche video of the day' here is a screen capture picture taken from one of the short video clips taken of my first drive in the car yesterday:

- & here are a couple of short video clips (I've 'doctored' them in an attempt to make them look more 'in period' )

There are still several amendments to be made to the spec seen in those clips - fitting the headlamp covers, changing the windscreen seal to my 'white band' version, swapping the rear reflectors to the correct ones, adding the badges & graphics, etc but it shouldn't be too long now .

From my brief drive yesterday it's apparent that it's going to be fairly quick & responsive ...

Even though the ignition timing has only been set to the standard starting point suggested by Henry Schmidt @ Supertec (who supplied the twin-plug distributor) it starts immediately, idles perfectly at ~ 900rpm & responds to the slightest touch of the throttle - the 906-style lightweight flywheel & cluch obviously contributing significantly.

Incidentally on the way back from its MOT test, the car was put on the local weighbridge at Thruxton & gave a reading of just over 700 kg - not too far from the Factory's figure of 695 kg for the original 6 cylinder 904.
