Before I close the enginebay to the body in the rear I had to measure and drill the holes for the Beehive taillights just to insure that the innerpanels dont interfere with the taillights. Test fitted all while I was at it. Looks to be correct in my opinion.. :)

Getting ready to flip it on the side so it is easier to apply a few more coats of fiberglass and resin on the inner fenders.. :)

How are you finding fiberglassing Hebster.

Your workshop must be heated all the time , don't see no rust on any of the welding you've done?

Well... It is interesting to say the least. And itching... :)

The workshop is basically heated on the winter period. Trying to keep it warmer than +10°C... The oldest (over one year old) welds are getting some yellowish colorization... :)

Been mostly working on small detail parts etc. lately.. Cut a pair of angled fiberglas pieces from scrapped parts for use as B-pillars.

Molded them today. They will get a few more layers and also flanges for the quarter windows...

After this I molded the firewall from the interior side to the body. Need at least one more layer and then I'll mold the firewall also from the engine side..

I'm beginning to think your liking this fibreglass stuff more than metal ;-)

Not really… :D But it has to be done… ;)

Today again some small pathes.. Unfortunately the garage is 15km away so I can't go to there just on and off all the time..

Lots of boring photos… :)
Started making the lip for quarter windows on B-pillars today. Used some woodchiplaminates as molds. Started from the inside. Will not see the result until tomorrow… :)

After this I finally started finishing the heat for windscreen defrosts… :) And also worked on the A-pillar design. Here too trying to replicate the original as much as possible.. :)

And finished the last triangular opening I cut in the sparewheelbay…

Yesterday I started mocking up doors and hinges.. Need to weld the hinge mounts to the A-post and cut out the fiberglass posts. The finished A-pillars will also off course look pretty much as the real thing… ;)

Also been planing the wiper mechanism for awhile as I want the wipers to move opposite to each other just as they should on a Pre-A… :)
Previous owner had started modding some bay window wiper mechanism. It will need a lot of more modding before I can use it as I want though… :)

Been busy with a lot of other stuff last week but had a short visit to the garage though and patched some 15 years old bad jobs where a-pillars join the doorsills...

Image
Image

After those jobs were cured I started cutting out the flanges previous owner had fitted hinges on...
I'm welding in original style hingemounts on the a-pillars.. :)
