The car looks stunning Darren, really good thread

Last week was spent finishing a few jobs prior to the car going to Canford Classics for fitting up

Interior black...



Masses of Waxoyl in every crevice...



Some finishing touches...



and wrapped up safely ready for transport...

Looking good Darren, looking forward to seeing lots of pictures of the next phase

Friday became a tale of three Porsches.....

Firstly my car was delivered to Canford Classics, Richard Huckle riding shotgun....



...along with all the parts needed for the rebuild...



Canford Classics have played a large part in this restoration - they've expertly restored and refreshed most of the items in the car and now I've asked Alan to go right through the fitting up process making sure everything is as fresh, crisp and correct as can be. The car's in very safe hands!

We then followed Alan to his excellent new storage facility to collect Richard H's freshly media blasted, totally rotten but straight, honest and original shell. Barry will soon fix this.



Finally on to Barry to swap with Richard Murphy's beautifully, beautifully restored Targa...



And all of this possible due to the magic community that is DDK - A very long tiring day but great fun with great people, everybody was smiling...

A mini update - I thought this part could take a couple of months, it appears it may take less than a couple of weeks!

Just a few days since I dropped the car off but I couldn't contain my excitement any longer and had to visit - Canford Classics have been busy……



Electrics mostly done…



..as is the rear suspension; front suspension sorted tomorrow and back on its wheels ...



..interior coming along nicely…



..and great to finally see wheels in those arches…



..think I'll have to up the horsepower in here though…



I think Alan and Chris were mildly amused at how excited I was , everyday stuff for them I suppose.

The 'cool, shrug it off, nothing is too much trouble' demeanour at Canford Classics can't hide the fact that there's a whole lot of love going in to everything they do - pure quality, these boys clearly know their stuff!
