A VW engine is much better than no engine!

Perhaps jumping the gun but....
I'd strongly suggest either:
a) making a full set of tinwear to isolate the engine bay from all the hot air underneath (that will otherwise rise up and be sucked into the fan... again).
b) running a very large bore flexi hose from the fan intake up to the engine cover grill to create a cold air feed.
Your probably aware of this but I thought it was worth a nudge.

had to take me engine back about as i couldnt get the clutch to work lots of excesss play on the pedal , the mate billy said that the release bearing was alll over the place , so when it was out he noticed that the wee ball socket on the clutch for was badly worn and the wee fork on the fork was broke on one side and the 2 guides on the relase bearing wear missing , well i don t remember taking them off
well £12 later from porsche the parts \rrived , on them went , the parts made a massive difference , but still no clutch to much travel , again billy had a noisey , you hace the clutch cable tube on the wrong side 20 seconds later wee had a clutch , happy days owen nw billy
