Got my wheels back from biagio ,, and a few spares too

My window frames and bumper trims were a bit naff too so he's done all of that

Even my grill slats have been done so today I've spent a few hours straightening all the slats as good as I can ...
Looking good and it's original so I'm really pleased I didn't buy a repro

Luckily I'm not too far away from Dougal at Longstone Tyres

So had a nice new set of pirelli cn36 tyres fitted to my 4x date matched January 71 deep sixes which have taken me nearly 5 years to get ...my car is Feb 1971 !

HI Jonathan ..

Was totting up with my son earlier today and its taken at least 19 wheel purchases to finally end up with a full set (4)

I've still got ten and luckily the spare set is pretty close to being a matched set too

Milestone week this week ! , decided I'd try and get the 911 on its wheels but having dry built everything then removed then tried again I was starting to go mad working out where certain bits went
There was always a washer , clip or bracket missing or the manual didn't quite make sense

Anyway I'm pleased to report it's now on wheels (thanks biagio for the refurb )

Tomorrow is going to be even tougher as I'm fitting the engine rl]

You might want to change the thread title - I don't call buying 19 wheels to get a matching set of 4 a "very tight budget"

Was thinking that too!! . Was just too scared to say anything until you came along :bounce:

In fairness I guess those unused to be sold on and profits pay for those actually used?

Hahaha

Yeah you're all right of course ! ..the budget was always gonna be very tight as im not working at the moment but the porsche badge on the front dictates that you forget being skint and just sell everything including kidneys and small children . I had hoped to get this on the road for less than 30k ....... (that's restoring healey and MGs giving my wallet a false sense of security)

Anyway ,loads of stress and big bills later I can honestly say I'd have walked past if I'd known how dear it was gonna be and how tight the wedgie was gonna get ....

I will take sladeys advice and change the title ...any suggestions ?

Thanks to everyone else for their comments ,, yeah I'm motivated to get out on the road ..engine and box gone in this morning ...the Egyptian method of course with lots of blocks of wood

Nice job, "looks new", which is obviously the object of the drill! Those headers/heat exchangers would look perfect on my 82 SC....Best regards, John
