Wrong yellow and he doesn't like 996s!
But if we all club together he probably would make an exception in this case!

Yesterday's British and Leaders' Championship round at Gurston Down, near Salisbury, at Ashes on my only timed run.
The meeting was abandoned before the end of the first runs because of standing water making the track unsafe.
At least I enjoyed my run! :)
Photo was taken by my pal Nelson, who came back to the motorhome making a drowned rat look quite respectable...…..

It was my old 912 from ~15 yrs ago - it came from PS Automobil via Russell Edmonds.

Jon - the mirror was already on it (& gives a better view) but easily exchanged for a round Durant.

You'll like this Mike - the original bonnet badge:

Jon

Great picture in the wet.

Andy

Thanks for posting that picture. The badge is a thing of beauty. Without realizing it you have helped to answer a question about the order of production of badges assuming its original which I’m sure it is. Now to get greedy, any pictures of the back of the badge?
What was the production date of the car Andy? Even roughly if not exact.

Thanks for posting. Another beautiful car you’ve owned Andy.

Regards
Mike

.
No pictures of the back of the badge I'm afraid Mike - the badge had never been off the car as far as I know & I had no reason to remove it.

It was a very original car - I wish I'd taken more photos of some of the incredible details ...

As far as its build date I'm afraid I haven't been able to find any record (so far).

It was one of the last of the much rarer Porsche-built '69 912 Coupés - the vast majority were built by Karmann (~3500 vs 428 built by Porsche) - if they were built at a fairly consistent rate during the production span it would probably have come off the production line around June '69.

I'll see if I can pinpoint the date a bit more accurately ...

Having owned a couple of Ghias and as much as I do like them I’d still take the 911

That will be the white 911 with the dipped headlamps.................. :blackeye: :)

The new owner has been looking for photos, but I reckon Chaos bought all the negatives and burned them!
