Car looks terrific Ian. I was at Mike Bainbridge on Monday, Mike was telling me about your gearbox.

Good luck, looks like you are nearly there.

A very happy birthday for Monday.
BTW I do not think I have ever seen a B registered 911
Thanks everyone for kind comments. Now comes the trepidation of commissioning.

jb. This is the first 911 to come to Scotland and amongst the 12 RHD 911s that were imported to the UK in 1965. The original owner somehow had the number reserved and it shows up in the AFN Register from new.

I love the short plates and the way you have done them front and back.

If I finish in the way I started this saga, I guess I can say that my Blue Belle has recovered from all her life-saving operations and is now walking again - even if her first steps are a little unsteady!!

Start up was a new experience for me and I needed a little encouragement from Mike Bainbridge. Jeez, I could only just turn the motor over by spanner on the mainshaft nut. But, after sorting out one or two minor petrol weeps, I got my son to turn the key whilst I stood with fire exstinguisher at the ready. After a few splutters she roared into life even if a bit erratic.
A bit of tweaking and she was good enough to drive put into the sunshine.

Boy, was that good. I took her up and down the drive and the clutch and box seem fine. Brakes work too....

OK, there are still a few things to sort out:
The oil temp needle starts mid way in the range??!!
The rev counter isn't working?!!
The charging light doesn't go out??!!

Yeh, the beginning of the end - but I'll get there.
Few piccies, some comparisons - so good for the spirit...............Hic, letz av another dram.

The next outing is to the Aberdeen Porsche Centre for wheel alignment ..........

Thank you all for all the help and nice comments during this rebuild. Several of you have been working on your projects at the same time as myself and I've made quite a few friends along the way. So a big thank you to DDK (Bootsy take a bow) for having this site - and sharing all your tales. I have never come across such a brilliant helpful bunch of guys.

Yours Aye

Ian
