Rode a few back when I was a bike journo – trouble is, the seat height was so high on Laverdas, I struggled on tippy-toe at traffic lights!

Now that's really interesting, the problem I have with my legs is the seat is to low on most bikes,
and that looks sensational!
cheers, Mike.

Yes, it's strange – Guzzis were always favourites of lady riders in London, because of their low seat height (suited me, too!), while my Ducati Pantah was 'so-so'. But The Laverda Formula Jota and the 1200 Mirage I rode nearly crippled me. Odd when you consider that many Italian cars favour the 'short leg, long-arm' driving position. Laverda's design team were clearly not proportioned like most of their fellow countrymen!

Mmmmm, Laverda... This is the Slater Brothers' Fomula Jota I borrowed. Only seven were ever made. Hell of a bike.

Laverdas always were a little quirky, but just so good to ride. Borrowed a 3CE for a while, which became the Jota.

Anyone have any pictures of the ultimate Laverda, the V6.....

Always a shame to see lovely machines (albeit non-original) unnecessarily damaged. I always hold my breath at the start of the Richmond and Gordon; there have been some nasty shunts in the past and this year was no different.

We all do, I had a discussion with a classic racer and his comment was " everything can be repaired " and its best
to use as intended, I hear many racers have a race replica built because of the value of the original .
Not everything can be repaired. This year I watched the driver of one of the cars involved being moved to the ambulance on a spinal board.

Went to the Bol'dOr to see them in about 1978, but sadly have lost my pictures of them. Sounded amazing!
