That's a great picture Berny - when was it taken ?

Sometime around 1966 ?

I guess you were racing against people like Clive Trickey ?

.
It is a great shot. Nice looking car too - loads of neg camber!

Clive Trickey, black n white Trippel C, what great times and memories.

Loved the Trickey Mini clubman.
I collect those small Trippel C tuning books, did my Herald and Spitfire following them.
Brilliant stuff, brilliant era, never to be seen again.

Yes, 11.00pm is very late for me at my age.
Sigh.

You will catch up soon!

Bloody hell Graham! All the way to Cultra when Harewood and Wiscombe are usually too far for you! :)

I remember watching David Enderby racing at Brands Hatch a number of times - often against Peter Day in
his 850 Mini which had an engine derived from half of a Ford BDA !!

Prompted by your post, I decided to dig out some of my old race programmes from the '70's & came across this from July '77 at Brands Hatch:

My Triple C Tuning Book collection. All purchased in period and well thumbed. Particularly the Twin Cam book, used in my early road rally days and the Side Valve Tuning book which was my bible when building the Aquaplane equipped 1172cc engine for my Series 2 Morgan - probably all of 60bhp when finished.

I was an avid Car & CC buyer/reader too - but the only one of their tuning books I bought was the SU carb one - used it to great effect on my MGA-engined Wolseley 1500 (my 2nd car back in 1968  ) ...

My old well-used Peter Noad book. Photos of all of my local VW heroes back then, Robert Woodside, Robert McBurney, Ken Shields and Reggie McSpadden. :)

Ka-bang, suddenly all those memories for us all flood back.

The small CCC books are pricey now if you at a good autojumble.
Last one I bought was from a local National Trust for £1.

Good reason to go to them, I enjoy the hunt.

The Maguire Imps and Mini's are magic, and Jonathan and I know this one well;

Bet that Maguire doesn’t get driven as hard as the Cultra one :)
