I have this framed on my office wall - a beautiful car beautifully photographed that captivates me when on a conference call....
Same car, I believe (Ralph Lauren's?), but the number plate has been removed from mine!

One of my clients used to own that D type - as I recall, he told me he sold it in about 1962 for "around £1,800" !

I recall seeing a D-Type in Duncan Hamilton's old garage on the A30 back about then. I asked my dad how anyone could afford a car that cost £1400...

It's quite rare even amongst D-Type circles - the first (of only 10) Works Long-nose models & the first to be fitted with the Lucas fuel-injected engine.
It used to belong to Anthony Bamford at one stage - last time I remember seeing it was when Adrian Hamilton had it for sale in the mid-late '80's.
