It's all in the detail...
But what to do when you can't afford some parts..? If they even ever would be available for sale...?
You make them yourself off course!!

Those 16s look excellent... have you thought about rubber profile yet?

I have 205/55 for the rear and 195/50 for the front in mind.
The smoothie 16 inch wheels I have testfitted on the previous page are fitted with 205/55's.

The first trial with the watertransfer decal film. Tested one of the smaller samples first on a glas jar lid... Size appr. 5cm.
Clearcoated. I've got to find better pliers so I dont scratch the pattern when I transfere the film to the plate..

Hi,
Where did you get the 6.5x16 rims to weld on to your 356 centres, are they banded 16" bug rims or off something else?
Cheers
Richard

I also started working on the 6,5x16 wheels. Testfitted the centers at 45mm offset and testfitted.

I bought VW Bora/Golf 6,5x16 ET42 wheels. These rims are about 1,5-2mm too large but closest I could find on the market of this width... So I weld a 1 by 10mm strip as a spacer between the center and rim making it a tight fit.

Clever.
If anyone wants to have a go at this I have a few Golf/Bora/Beetle 16" rims that i've found are very easy to split/slice/chop/band.
