Thanks for posting your photo, it's a fine looking car you have there.
Hopefully mine will look as good when finished.

Thanks for the compliments Jason, yes, I'm really looking forward to it.
Having been rebuilt so well & so thoroughly (using genuine Porsche components and restored to standard specification) I'm keen to discover just how well it drives. I appreciate it's only a 'poor mans' RS but if it shares the same driving dynamics I will be pleased.
Strangely, I have to admit I've never driven a '73 RS so there's plenty to learn.
And I'm getting excited about the Le Mans Classic trip, it'll be a grand holiday for both the car & me.

We're going to the Classic too so would be great to get both cars together for a few photos?

Well, I didn't realise that... we can easily put that right. You might like to do a back-to-back of the old outgoing '73 model against your new & improved '74 car. Just don't judge the earlier model too harshly against your factory fresh 911.
It's looking good btw & roll on CLM

It's already been done in C&SC but certainly worth reviving. LM-P provided the cars (and copy, I think) last time out.
The later car was silver and belonged to Frank Sytner and Lee offered it to me for £50k. I said something along the lines of 'if you think I'm paying you £50k for an impact bumper you must think I'm mad....!'

Car is now owned by Dave Clarke and he won't sell it.

It lives!
But does it move?

Yes, the assemblage of mechanical parts has become a fire breathing power plant.
Nick had the engine turning over last week but struggled with some electrical issues.
The section of wiring loom in the engine bay was missing a connector, had a few rogue parts and some faulty wiring.
Cue much pondering of wiring charts and head scratching.
Along with that was a loose oil pipe connection that - aided by gravity - helped some oil to transfer from engine case to floor.
All minor issues that happily have been resolved.
And so - at last - the engine sparked into life.
Nick reports that she is sweet.
In fact he said sweeeeeeet.
Sweeter than workshop tea topped up with syrup.
Sadly there's no YouTube evidence but that one picture above tells the story. We're getting close.
Nick claims the list of tasks to complete on the car is down to half a page of A4.
Mind you it's in 10 point type on 11 point leading.

Nice moment Paul. Were you there to hear the first start up?
Let's hear her when you get a chance to record.
Colour still looks fab in an otherwise dull world.

Good stuff
I remember those 'to do' lists... One of mine had 'rebuild car' on it. Short but to the point
