Only just catching up on this Paul, and it really does look fantastic as it comes together.
Well done for doing the project in the first place, and to Nick for making it all happen!

Totally stunning colour Paul. Lovely work Nick. What a 911 this is going to be on the road.

My God Paul, that paint looks inches thick. I absolutely, absolutely love it. You've done incredibly well there. I was tempted, badly tempted by the magenta one, I have to say, but that green, utterly gorgeous (I have to admit, I am still only at page 53, I have to look at a page at a time and have a little lie down in between!)

Sigh, deep sigh. I have finally finished the 113 pages of this thread and I am in utter, absolute and complete awe. Paul and Nick, chapeau as they say in cycling, which means hats off.
I have seen a lot of restorations and this is without a shadow of doubt the finest I have ever seen. You could stick this in Pebble Beach on Monday and it would win. The problem is you will drive it, I know you will and that is the way it should be, but really, you should stick this in a huge Concours d'Elegance and come away with silverware before you do. This is a bloody showcase car, a once in a lifetime car that you have showered in love, care and a bucketload of money. I am not a show sort of a guy, but the rest of the world deserve to see this car in its perfect finished state.
Then rag the backside off it round a track and enjoy the bugger !
Paul, I am utterly floored by your determination to make this perfect. It is not in any way a Grandfathers Axe, it is a perfectly considered re-creation of a brilliant car. The best in the world, no doubt.
Well done.
Now can anyone tell me how to subscribe to this bad boy ? I need updates !!!

Spend endless hours on DDK like the rest of us!
You sum the car up well.
I think driving it (for me) would be hard simply because you will loose the perfection, but replaced with patina, earned from road trips and experiences, cheaper than this restoration, but priceless!

He's almost ready, if only he could remember under which cover Nick hid it.
