Always liked the Merak and actually think it looks good in Grigio. Seems reasonable money at the moment if you can find a good one.
In a similar vein always fancied a Pantera, but prices have doubled recently, the early one's in 70's colours, lime green or orange look great.

Any excuse to post a photo of Yasmin....

Nice 11,000 miler Merak here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2247080.htm
but for that money you'd probably go for a mint 930 turbo.....or what....?

That's been for sale for a very long time ...

The one in my post above is another low-mileage (22k) car & is for sale for ~ £30k.

Incidentally I nearly bought a very nice Merak SS about 20 years ago from someone you might know from your Dino days - Mike Elliott at Superformance.

Have you driven one Andy, what was your experience, performance, handling, seats and so on like?
A decade newer so I like to think a little better than the 246GT, a beautiful car's but leaves a little to
be desired in those areas!

Similar money roughly as the Meridian Merak, I can see you in this:

Never had a dealings with Superformance, being a Surrey man it was Modena Engineering at East Horsley, long gone now sadly.

I'm a big Climax Elite fan - my brother owned one (an SE) back in the late '60's - & it's another one that's on my list ...

I've driven a few Meraks but not for many years - a bit lacking in performance was my recollection.

You will possibly not guess where this car was/doing?

I think this is a "Silhouette" (?) but remember seeing a "Jalpa" parked on the Kings Road in Chelsea ( probably early eighties) and couldn't believe the noise when the guy started it up. From that point on I always wanted one, but now I'm not certain over how big my shovel would need to be to dig the hole to pour my money in to keep it going !!!!

That's funny - many, many years ago a Lamborghini Countach used to drive around Maida Vale in London with this registration number!

I once remember him stopping, swinging the door upwards and asking my (young and pretty) wife directions - arse only lived around the corner!

Darren
The chap who owned it dealt in Registration numbers for years "Car Marks of Hull" - I also remember him having "0110" on the same car and "RM1" on his Ferrari 400 and at the same time his wife drove a car with "1RM"

Bit of a coincidence - I got Evo magazine today and "0110" is for sale with a registration number dealer - £199,000 !
