These are the fuel breather and the windscreen washer tanks.

I don't know what happened over the years but my car had lost its washer tank.
The one pictured was supplied from Nick's stock of secondhand parts.
The car also had an incorrect (non-Porsche) washer pump and piping.
We now believe that it was the fitment of an aftermarket body-kit caused those parts to be changed.

When discovered the Carrera had giant fibreglass bumpers front & rear. They were restyled and reshaped and were nothing like standard (being deep 'dam' affairs).
It would appear that the standard washer bottle wouldn't fit within those parts and so things were 'remodelled'.

Further reinforcing that train of thought was the discovery that the car had lost its air horns.
I found a simple flat horn in the box of parts.
I can only assume the body-kit bumper had insufficient room to accommodate the twin air horns on the other side.
The standard parts missing were those items from each sides inner arches. I'm guessing they were altered to fit the aftermarket bumpers.

So, I had to buy some new horns from Porsche.

Sorry Ian, I checked and I can't help with any images of that, I should have taken more photos as I went along...

The latches were looking tired so Nick set to work....

Now replated, rebuilt and looking rather better.

I had one faulty door lock and a mismatch between the pair so I’ve gone for new barrels (and keys) from Porsche.
The ignition lock works fine. Which is good news because a replacement ignition barrel is rather pricey. And those are currently listed as a 964 part number so I’m far from certain the new replacements would fit the older car.

Nick disassembled the locks, refurbished them, plated them and rebuilt with the new barrels.

The process of refurbishment is so much more satisfying than just buying new, these look like a great example.
