Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
It's rather ironic. When the Tour first came to the UK and visited Plymouth, way back when, I lived up in Surrey. Now I live in Cornwall and discover the Olympic route takes the riders within 50 yards of two houses in which I used to live, one in Oxshott, the other in West Horsley! I think event organisers are deliberately trying to upset me...

The 'custom' team bikes look pretty nice...

Not much riding on the tops planned...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Have to say it was looking at those training bikes yesterday which kept me interested, they are a work of art,
a custom Pinarello that cost 10 grand I think somebody said it was, I thought that was an Italian wine......
The boys seemed to have some kind of gauge taped on the handlebars, sure they don't need speedo's so
wonder what they are, here's Bradley with one on his as well.

Was going to suggest a peg with a piece of cardboard in the spokes, but thought best not to.......

Peg and a piece of card not much good - there are only about half the number of spokes these days....
As for the 'gauge' on the bars - a computer that can (with the appropriate sensors) read out speed, distance, cadence, heart rate, power output.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

Bit of a nostalgia trip for me this weekend .
I had a ride up the east coast to Whitby etc .
On the way back along the A64 I realised I wasn't far from the old AF Rayspeed garage . For those not into the Eighties scooter scene they were one of the best tuning shops at the the time . Think Kremer racing for scooters . We always stopped off on our way to Scarborough , drooling over the speed parts and the bikes usually painted in wacky metal flake colours .
I haven't been back for twenty odd years so it was good to see the place still there and pretty much as I remember it .
Happy days ....

Russ...

A rarity from Audlem Festival of Transport:
Talbot Lago:

Attendants also included Fangio's 250S (as seen racing at CLM) and the Lotus 18 F1 car that won the Monaco GP in 1961 in the hands of Stirling Moss.
...oh and some old 911.
However I failed to take any pictures of them
