Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

My lovely engine.
New crank, new pistons, new cylinders, new valves, new rods, new cam, new..... you get the picture.
Big bore with full flow oil and a fair bit of work on the heads, it's a thing of great beauty and this afternoon I've been driving it around the dale.
There was a moment after the first mile when I thought it was broken but that was just me running out of fuel. A quick flick of the lever and all was well again.
Great thanks go to Andy Prill and his team in Halstead for building such a super engine and getting it ready in plenty of time for wedding duties next weekend.
The last time I drove this car was July 21st 2012.
It's been quite a day.

Fantastic news Mike - had no idea it's nearly 4 yrs since you last drove it !
I've picked up on a few comments recently ... are you & Hayley getting married (I thought you already were) ?
If so, congratulations !

That's a thing of beauty. I wish you and Hayley many happy and troublefree miles with smiles.
You've waited long enough.

I bloomin did. I pulled over, jumped out, popped the lid and fiddled expertly with the plug leads before it dawned on me.hot66 wrote:

An 'AUF RES ZU lever is something you don't get in 911s and it's remembering what does what, that's the trick.
Did some steady motoring this evening, was very nice.

Fantastic news Mike - when we were talking the other week I really didn't think you had a cat in hell's chance of making the wedding.
It must feel great to be driving it again - does it feel a lot faster or can't you remember what it was like before?
