Although I agree the vertical fins are fugly, I'm sure you know really why they are there, Mike.
They were introduced as a safety measure, after Marc Gene's crash in testing at Le Mans in 2008.

While I understand the reasoning, they are monumentally ugly and that's something racing cars and boats should never be.
It's also a real shame the cars are so similar, strip the branding off and I couldn't tell them apart
